Dr. Sellin uncovered a report showing that Chinese Dr. Shi Zhengli was part of a team that was working on a coronavirus project jointly with U.S. doctors in 2014. The team members included Dr. Ralph S. Baric from North Carolina. The project was eventually shut down by the U.S Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) for being too risky. After the US research project was shut down, Dr. Shi Zhengli continued her coronavirus research in Wuhan, China.
In 2014 DHHS sent a letter to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill announcing it was planning to defund the program. The DHHS letter identified Dr. Ralph S. Baric. When the project work ended in the US, the Chinese Dr. Shi ran research at the Wuhan Virology Center, according to thegatewaypundit.com. . Records indicate Dr. Shi Zhengli’s was successful at “isolating the virus in the lab and actively experimenting with species to species transmission”.
Dr. Baric published an article discussing the potential of coronavirus for human emergence which appeared in a 2015 edition of Nature Medicine. The article was published not long after DHHS defunded the project. There is speculatation that Dr. Baric and Fauci working on COVID-19 vaccines before the pandemic. The Moderna vaccine was ready for human testing quickly after the pandemic announcement was made. .
