On April 23, 2022, NNVNews Contributor Sis. Sherrie had an exclusive interview with host Sis. Rosalind Parks about the challenges and accomplishments of Black Women in the educational system. The title is based upon the Final Call Newspaper article entitled, “A Paradigm Shift for Education for the educated Black Women, which was inspired by the guidance given by The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan in a lecture called New Paradigm for Education in the 21st Century. Sis Sherrie Muhammad is the Founder and Director of Asiatic Minds Online School. Sister Sherrie was asked, “In what ways were Black Women redefining themselves in education?” Her response was, “Black Women in education, were redefining ourselves in a number of ways.” “As the article points out there’s one sister who has rejoined the force of education by sitting on the board of education of her local school, and so she is affecting the education through influencing programs by initiating programs to help out that will assist the students there, as well as the teachers, there another educator who is influencing by filling in gaps that she doesn’t see in the curriculum, by creating a holiday for indigenous women. And so that’s supplementing what we don’t see.
