Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif commented on Thursday that President Trump may be aiming to create a “pretext for war.” “Intelligence from Iraq indicate plot to fabricate pretext for war” remarked Zarif via twitter according to english.alarabiya.net. Zarif’s comments were made three days before the first anniversary of the assassination of Iranian General Qasem Soleimanii, killed January 3, 2020 in a U.S. drone strke. Zarif warned Trump against any “adventurism” before leaving office, saying “putting your own citizens at risk abroad won’t divert attention from catastrophic failures at home”
