Atty. Ben Crump Holds Press Conference To Present New Information On The Assassination Of Malcolm X

Attorney Benjamin Crump held a press conference on Saturday to reveal new evidence that directly implicates the NYPD and the FBI in the conspiracy and assassination of Former Nation of Islam’s Leader Malcolm X. NNV News streamed live coverage of the press conference. Atty Crump.was joined by three of Malcolm X’s daughters, Atorney RY Hampton, and Reginald Woods Jr., cousin of deceased NYPD undercover Officer Raymond A. Woods.

Ray Woods wrote a letter ten years ago confessing his role with NYPD and its collaboration with the FBI to assassinate Malcolm X. His letter was entrusted to his cousin Reginald Woods.Jr.with instructions that it not be released until after his death.  Woods died November 24, 2020.  Reginald Woods Jr. read the letter during the press conference describing Woods undercover work as a NYPD officer where his job was to infiltrate civil rights organizations and encourage its leaders to commit felonious acts so the FBI could discredit and arrest them.

“I participated in actions that in hindsight were deplorable and detrimental to the advancement of my own black people’ wrote Woods after learning of the death of Thomas Johnson, a man wrongfully convicted for assassinating Malcolm X. Woods was in failing health and fearing that if he died, Johnson’s family would never be able to exonerate him. Woods wrote that he was ordered to be at the Audubon Ballroom where witnesses saw him leaving the scene.  He added, “Thomas Johnson was later arrested and wrongly convicted to protect my cover and the secrets of the FBI and NYPD “.

Atty. Crump called upon the Manhattan District Attorney to take action and encouraged congress to hold hearings on the involvement of FBI in conspiring against civil rights leaders such as Malcolm X,  Fred Hampton, Martin Luther King Jr, The Panther 21 and so many others who were labeled justifiable murders. “This is about restorative justice” “This is about exoneration and setting the record straight” said Atty. Crump.
