Amid Surge In COVID-19, US Government Scrambles For Solutions and Eli Lilly Vaccine

The surge in new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) disease have federal and state government officials scrambling for solutions.  In the first 10 days of this month there were one million new cases reported in the US.  At least 45 states reported increases in their positive COVID-19 test results. There have been 10.2 million cases of COVID-19 in the US, and at least 239,000 deaths according to data from John’s Hopkins University.

Governors are troubled over the surge of new cases of COVID-19 reaching over 100,000 per day. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker said “The virus is winning right now”.  Pritzker and other state governors called for mask mandates and limitations on social gatherings.  Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers issued an executive order urging the public to limit social gatherings as his state’s hospital intensive care beds were near full capacity.

The US Federal Drug Administration (USDA) issued an emergency use authorization for bamlanivimab, a “single antibody treatment” manufactured by Eli Lilly. Bamlanivimab must be given thru infusion in a hospital or other health care setting.  According to the USDA “It is the first monoclonal antibody to be authorized for use in treating COVID-19”. Within days 100,000 doses of bamlanivimab are expected to be shipped to AmerisourceBergen, a national distributor. The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) will distribute it. DHHS Secretary Alex Azar said “Authorization of this new Eli Lilly antibody treatment is a significant step forward in treating patients and bridging us to the rollout of safe and effective vaccines, with all of these efforts made possible by Operation Warp Speed”.

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan warned us during “The Criterion” message, calling on our own scientists, virologists, epidemiologist saying, “We can not let them bring anything to us that we don’t disect”. “Dont you take a vaccine unless you say to our people we’ve checked it out and you better be of the truthful ones.”
